Riverside’s Coleman and MSL’s Williamson Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (March 2)
Donavan Coleman (Riverside Univ. High School) and Taylor Williamson (MSL High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 22-28.
Coleman turned in one of his strongest performances of the season against Messmer last Tuesday, contributing on both ends of the floor. The senior finished with 18 points on 67 percent shooting, but it was his work on the boards that stood out most, as Coleman pulled down an impressive 21 rebounds. The Tigers dropped the contest 81-69, yet Coleman’s effort was enough to earn him his second Student-Athlete of the Week nomination of the season.
Williamson anchored MSL’s matchup against Tenor/Veritas on Monday night with a well-rounded effort. The sophomore shot 11-of-18 from the field, finishing with 24 points and two assists. His defensive presence was equally notable, as Williamson added four rebounds and three steals to his stat sheet. The Hawks secured a dominant 106-63 win over the Titans, improving to 13-7 on the season.
