Reagan's Ava Romero and Howard Fuller's My'kel Dyson Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Oct. 12)
Ava Romero (Reagan High School) and My’kel Dyson (Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 4-10.
Â
Romero had a standout week on the court, finishing fourth at the WIAA sectionals at Kenosha Bradford, which secured a spot at the state tournament in Madison. She will compete this Thursday against Natalie Homberg of Arrowhead High School. Romero is coming off a strong season in which she captured the MCC singles tennis championship and is the top singles player in the MCC.
Â
Dyson was dominant on the field Thursday night as Howard Fuller took on the MSL Hawks. Dyson led the team with 138 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, and added a sack on the defensive side of the ball, helping the Lions secure a big 54-32 victory. As a new football-only member of the conference, this was Howard Fuller’s first non-forfeit victory in the MCC.
