Armani Love and Lucy Gray

Rufus King's Gray & Marshall's Love Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (Oct. 20)

Lucy Gray (Rufus King High School) and Armani Love (Marshall High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 12-18.

Gray powered the Rufus King Generals to a city conference title in the MCC Gold Division on Saturday, Oct. 18, highlighted by the championship game victory over MSL. After consecutive Gold Division crowns for the Reagan Huskies, Gray’s senior-season excellence propelled Rufus King back into the winner’s circle in 2025. Rufus King will host MHSA in the first round of the WIAA regionals on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. Purchase digital tickets here.

Gray, a three-time first-team all-conference honoree in the MCC Gold Division, has verbally committed to play volleyball next season at Butler University, a Division-1 program located in Indianapolis. The 2025-26 all-conference honorees for volleyball will be announced later this month.

Love lit up the scoreboard for Marshall in the Eagles’ high-flying 44-36 win over Riverside at Jimmy Banks Memorial Stadium on Friday, Oct. 17. The sophomore quarterback totaled 287 passing yards, 55 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) as Marshall concluded its 2025-26 season on a high note.
