Hamilton’s Burrell and North Division’s Johnson and Named MCC Student-Athletes of the Week (March 9)

Jayden Burrell (Hamilton High School) and Shevez Johnson (North Division High School) were named the Milwaukee City Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 1-7.

Burrell played an integral role in Hamilton’s matchups last week. The Wildcats swept through Rufus King and Franklin during their WIAA postseason run, earning their third regional championship title in four years. Across both wins, Burrell averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, showcasing his reliability on both ends of the floor.

Johnson was equally impressive in North Division’s first-round playoff matchup against Audubon. The senior put up 23 points on 66.7 percent shooting while adding seven rebounds and two steals. Though the Blue Devils’ season came to an end, Johnson proved to be an undeniable force on the court.
